Excellent information.
I am wondering about the importance of gymnastics with the BSPP. Is that unique to the BSPP or do all fire departments in France exercise using gymnastics? Gymnasts are regarded as being very strong and the balancing requires a great amount of strength. In the US I think I would be thrown out of my department if I said we should do gymnastics!

in the other departments it's more about training with heavy weights, like normal muscle training, i've never heard about any other french deparment doing gymnastic trainings |

gymnastics,is realy a BSPP spéciality you don't find a so implication in this activity anywhere else in france.
It's probably one of the most good sport adapted for the firefighter profession.

in my visit of the fdny firehouse , i have looking, they practice body building and race, and they have an a base ball team, it's such in your fire department?
